Machine tool repairs

  As trained and experienced Engineers we are capable of taking on all types of Power Press fault finding and repairs, control panel design and machine automation. Servicing our customers to a high standard we find our unique approach returns a good relationship installing trust on both sides. You can rely on Sovereign Engineering Services to give you the customer an expert opinion on all your repairs or supply of goods. With service vehicles on the road six days a week we can usually commit to a breakdown within 24 hrs of your call, in most cases we can offer an immediate response, reducing your machine downtime cost and production frustration.

  Being experienced in Electrical, Mechanical repairs and modifications we have naturally diversified over the years and found our selves working on other automated machinery to include: All types of press shop machinery, Pneumatically controlled machinery, barrelling and de-greasing machinery, various gearbox and transmission systems etc. We are also experianced in lubrication systems and control panel design for all types of production equipment. 

  Our service costs are very competative and easy to understand, we charge a minimum call out fee of four hours and calculate these hours at our current rates relevent to the time of day. We work out our changes from base to base and calculate our travelling at 38p p/mile. Please see our service charges as set out below. 

Machining Service

  Our experienced machine shop personnel have manufactured replacement components and prototype products for over 40 years. We have large capacity lathes and milling machines, a horizontal borer, drillers, shaping and Surface grinding facilities. Our material suppliers are vast and our contract grinding, welding and gear cutting companies are second to non in their own field, this allows us to offer a wide range of services and manufacturing techniques.

Service Engineer - rates

 Charges are calculated per Engineer

 Monday to Friday - 6am to 6pm         - Standard rate.
 Monday to Friday - 6pm onwards     - Standard rate + 1/2.  (Continued hours only)
 Saturday            - 6am to 12pm        - Standard rate.
 Saturday            - 12pm onwards     - Standard rate + 1/2. 
 Sunday              - 6am onwards        - Standard rate x  2.     (Only available with prior booking)
 Bank Holidays       - 6am onwards       - Standard rate x  2.     (Only available with prior booking)

 Travelling charged @ 38p p/mile - base to base.


Insurances.

 We are currently Insured to carry out work on site with an indemnity of £2'000'000.00. We have found that in 99% of our customers this amount of cover is more than adequate for their Insurers requirements. We are covered to work at heights of over 8 metres, under machinery including pit-work and for hot work to include welding and cutting, we are insured as Electrical and Mechanical machine tool maintenance Engineers with product cover against injury. Please request a copy of our Insurance certificate upon first site visit. 

Risk assessment.

 We can provide free of charge our pre-draftred Statement of Safe Working Practices, this paperwork covers our day to day service and repair work carried out on site at your premises. If a written risk assessment was required for work to be carried out, the customer would incur a service call charge and we would require a booking to be made in advance.

Licences. 

 We are currently trained and licenced to operate scissors lifts, counterbalance fork trucks and over head pendant cranes.

Work sheets and delivery notes.

  We can provide at no extra charge all relevant job sheets to accompany our repair and fault finding work, our hours worked and goods supplied will be clearly set out for your purchasing department to calculate and raise order numbers to suit.Work carried out on a quotation from Sovereign Engineering Services would require a purchase order number in advance of work commencing. 

Terms of trade.

  Our payment terms are strictly on a Proforma basis for the first order. We can then offer payment terms of thirty days net of invoice date if a credit check returns positive.We would in most cases invoice the customer within five days from completion of work and allow a ten day grievance period for disputes and mistakes. We would expect prompt payment from our customers, but please talk to us in advance of order if our payment terms do not suit your accounting procedures. We have chased overdue payments in the latter years through our Debt Collection Agency though we understand the chain of payment doesn't always run smoothly, we will give you the opportunity to make payment on an agreed date prior to this procedure being enforced. Our agency does charge 15% on top of our invoice totals and are entitled by law to charge for lost interest over the period from the invoice date to the time of their intervention.
